וַיַּעֲל֥וּ בְּבַֽעַל־פְּרָצִים֮ וַיַּכֵּ֣ם שָׁ֣ם דָּוִיד֒ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר דָּוִ֔יד פָּרַ֨ץ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֧ים אֶת־אוֹיְבַ֛י בְּיָדִ֖י כְּפֶ֣רֶץ מָ֑יִם עַל־כֵּ֗ן קָֽרְא֛וּ שֵֽׁם־הַמָּק֥וֹם הַה֖וּא בַּ֥עַל פְּרָצִֽים׃
Mereka maju ke Baal-Perasim, dan di sana Daud memukul kalah mereka. Lalu Daud berkata: “Allah telah menerobos barisan musuh-musuhku melalui tanganku, seperti air bah yang menerobos.” Itulah sebabnya tempat itu dinamai Baal-Perasim.
